THIS PATTERN IS ONLY THE EARS, NOTHING ELSE!
This is a really easy quick pattern to turn anything you have into a cat.
I originally used it to turn the Love Bunnies pattern by Erika Hughes into a cat.
The ears are quite sturdy and easy to reshape when accidentally pushed out of shape. They do keep their shape quite well because of the way the pattern is build and they keep standing without having to fill it with something or use wiring.
*DISCLAIMER* I have only made this pattern with chunky yarn for 5,5 to 6,5 mm size needles (US 9-10,5) but I do think that any other yarn would work just as well.
Same hook size as rest of work
Same yarn as rest of work
Or in the case of just making ears, use hooksize listed on the yarn.
I myself use a mm smaller hooksize than is listed on the yarn (I used a 4,5 mm hook for 5,5 mm on the yarn) as this is what I have learned for doing amigurumis.
sc = single crochet
sc2 = 2 single crochets into one stitch (increase)
sc2tog = crochet two stitches together (decrease)
The numbers at the end of the line are the amount of stitches the round is at the end of the round.
This pattern is worked in spirals, don't join rows!
Row 1. Start with a magic ring with 6 stitches (6)
Row 2. sc2 (12)
Row 3. sc (12)
Row 4. 5 sc, 7 sc2 (19)
Rows 5-9. sc (19)
Row 10. 9 sc, 2tog, 6 sc, 2tog (17)
Row 11. sc (17)
Then bind off and leave enough yarn to attach it to your project.
Then turn the ears inside out so that the string at the beginning of the pattern is on the inside.
Push the flatter side in and the cat ears should take shape. You know that the flat side is facing you if the bind off piece of string is on the left side of the ear.

Enjoy your cat ears!
